Topic: Navigating Paid Sick Leave
Description: Last November, Nebraska voters approved Initiative 436, the “Healthy Families and Workplaces Act”, requiring most private employers to provide paid sick leave to employees. Subsequently, the Nebraska Legislature enacted and Governor Pillen signed LB415 into law to provide more clarity relating to enforcement and compliance.
Intricacies of law, as amended, including coverage, accrual and usage, and other employer obligations will be covered by labor law attorneys, and Nebraska Chamber Board members, Mark Schorr and Scott S. Moore.
In addition, a representative from the Nebraska Department of Labor will provide an update on regulatory guidance, enforcement of the Act, and other department updates regarding workforce development and reemployment initiatives.
