Robert F Kennedy gave a campaign speech on May 10, 1968 in Auburn at the Legion Memorial Band Shell.

This May 10th the Bandshell at Legion Park will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Senator Robert F. Kennedy’s campaign appearance at the bandshell. The highlight of the event will be a screening of never before seen Super 8 mm film of the event, shot by then Superintendent of Schools, Albert Austin. The footage is filled with the familiar faces of those who were there that day, and also includes Senator Kennedy delivering his speech. Refreshments will be served, and hopefully some of those who were witness to this momentous event will be willing to share their impressions.
